At Pipinchick we don’t believe in putting healthy hens down just because they don’t conform to a strict breed standard, we want to give all healthy hens a chance for a loving home no matter their appearance.

Our ‘Imperfectly Perfect’ ladies are all gorgeous girls from the same parent stock as the others, they are vaccinated and cared for in exactly the same way and make lovely garden buddies and pets.

Some common defects you might find with one of our special ladies:

(All are aesthetic and will cause no long term issues).

• Less or no feathers on their legs and feet.
• Smaller or bald pom-poms (these feathers do usually grow back in time).
• Slightly wonky beaks (we would never send a cross-beak hen without first checking).
• Wonky toes or less than 5.
• Long legs or necks and masculine body shapes.
